Main Ingredient

  • 3 cups cabbage, finely chopped

  • ΒΌ tsp turmeric powder

  • Salt, to taste

  • 1 tbsp coconut oil

  • Β½ tsp mustard seeds

  • ΒΌ tsp urad dal

  • ΒΌ tsp chana dal

  • 1 sprig curry leaves

  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

  • 1 tbsp dry red chili flakes (adjust to taste)

Optional Finish

  • 2 tbsp grated coconut


🍽️ Instructions

  • Prepare the Cabbage – Steam chopped cabbage for 6–7 minutes until just tender. Toss with turmeric and salt; set aside.

  • Temper the Spices – Heat coconut oil in a wide pan. Add urad dal and chana dal; sautΓ© until golden. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.

  • Build the Base – Add curry leaves and chili flakes, followed by onions. SautΓ© until soft and translucent.

  • Combine & Finish – Add steamed cabbage and toss gently. Cook uncovered for 2–3 minutes. Finish with grated coconut if using.
